I am buying the Icelandic Poppies as a gift and wondered when to plant the seeds and if they will do well in Central Pennsylvania. Should they be planted in an area with all day sunlight?

These poppies do best with full sun and they will grow nicely in your area -- they are very widely adapted. They will bloom the first year if seeded early, in fact they are often grown as an annual because they are unpredictably perennial and are sadly often short lived. Where they are happy they may self sow.
