The Q&A Archives: Last Frost Date

Question: I recently purchased some wildflower mix and it instructs me to wait until the danger of frost is past. I am trying to find out when the date of last frost is for my area (I am located near Huntington, WV).

Answer: You're in zone 6 which puts your last frost date about the middle of March. Your spring is traditionally mid-March through mid-May, summer is mid-May through August, and fall begins in September. The first frost date for your area is about mid-October. Hope this helps!
