I am planting Liriope Muscari (Evergreen Giant Lilyturf). To control weeds I want to use bagasse. Would it be appropiate or have secondary effects?

Bagasse, the shredded waste product of sugarcane production, makes an excellent mulch. It is often sold as a mulch product and is also used by large scale compost producers to blend with other ingredients when making compost.
