Question: Under flourescent lights, when is the earliest time that you can plant extra early crops indoors (early tomatoes, broccoli)? Mike Butera York, PA

Answer: You can start these vegetables indoors: broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower- 4 weeks before last frost date tomatoes, peppers and eggplant- 6 weeks before last frost date lettuce, squash, cucumbers- 2-3 weeks before last frost date. Last frost date in your area should be around May 1st.
