I recently acquired a lavender plant. I have never owned one before. I would like to know the proper way to take care of it.

Lavender is a branching sub-shrub, growing to about 3' tall, with 6"-8" flower spikes. Lavender grows quickly to its maximum height and established plants can be divided in the spring, taking roots with stems attached and replanting to increase your stock of plants. Lavender doesn't need a great deal of care, but you can feed in early spring with a 5-10-10 fertilizer. Plant your Lavender in a sunny spot with average garden soil.
