I would like to start annuals from seed for my outdoor containers. I am interested in flowers that have a long blooming period and ones that will transplant easily. We live in the Colorado mountains at a high altitude so hardiness is a must. A few of my containers are in full sun and several in afternoon sun only. What would you suggest? |
Some of the sturdiest annuals are also some of the easiest to care for. For full sun, or afternoon sun, consider Marigold, Zinnia, Thunbergia, Salvia, Scabiosa, Petuna, Dwarf Morning Glory, Lavatera and Nicotiana. Nasturtium , Verbena, Calendula, Dianthus and Poppy are also good choices for container gardening. |
