Under commerical situations, pumpkins should be grown a mile apart to avoid cross pollination, but this is not a problem unless you are planning to save seed to plant next year. Corn can be isolated by distance (1000 feet apart) or by timing to avoid cross pollination. Your County Extension (348-1247) should be able to help you in selecting the varieties that do well in your area and are best suited to your needs.
