| I purchased some Blue Eyed Daisy seeds from your catalog and have started them in some seed starter two weeks ago and nothing is happening. I have placed them on a bright sunny windowsill and have kept them moist. How long do they normally take before I start to see them sprout? |
| These should germinate in about 10 to 15 days at average room temperatures. Generally, seeds start best when planted and lightly covered with a dampened soil mix (like a wrung out sponge) and then covered with clear plastic wrap or similar material to maintain a constant humidity level. The container should be placed in a bright location out of direct sun to avoid overheating (the way a closed up car overheats on a sunny day). Since the cover maintains humidity there should be no need to water until the seeds sprout. Once the seeds germinate the container should be uncovered and placed in a very bright location in either direct sun or under supplemental lights and the soil should be kept moist nut not sopping wet. With luck, your seeds should germinate any day now. |
