The Q&A Archives: Small Shrubs

Question: My wife wants me to find and plant some green all year around bushes that won't have to be trimmed and grow to a height of approximately two feet. Can you make any recommendations?

Answer: There are several shrubs that will remain small at maturity, but may need occasional pruning to keep them in shape. Here are a few that should fit your needs: Japanese holly, Boxwood, Juniper, dwarf Nandina, dwarf mugo pine, Vaccinium (common blueberry) or Pieris.
