The Q&A Archives: Small Hostas

Question: We have recently put in a concrete sidewalk in the front of our house and I am wanting to plant Hostas along it. However, I don't want real tall ones. Can you give me the names of Hostas that grow 6-12" tall?

Answer: There are so many smaller hostas to choose from! Burpee (800-888-1447) offers several hostas, among them a lovely smaller one called Golden Tiara. You might also want to look at the selections available from the garden center or a shade plant specialist such as Shady Oaks Nursery for some ideas. You will be amazed at the variety of shape, color, form and habit of these wonderful shade loving plants.
