Maybe you could give me some tips on how to get rid of Japanese beetles. They eat my roses and my hollyhocks, to the point of the leaves being completely covered with holes and the hollyhock flowers are completely covered with them.

These are indeed a pest. Some gardeners are willing to hand pick them, but this can be very time consuming. Some gardeners find the pheromone traps effective, although in my experience they can attract as many as they seem to catch unless placed at a large distance away. Other solutions are to apply and reapply Neem according to the label instructions or as a last resort, Sevin again applied and reapplied according to the label instructions.
