The Q&A Archives: When to start seedlings

Question: How early do I start my plants (in my house) so I can put them in my garden? Clayton Brown Tecumseh, MI

Answer: It all depends on what you're growing. Tomatoes, peppers and eggplants need 6 weeks growing indoors before the last frost, broccoli, lettuce and cabbage need 4 weeks indoors, flowers such as marigolds and salvia need 6-8 weeks. Your last frost is probably around May 1st.
