I am growing fava beans for the first time but cannot find any information on when to harvest them. A few of the pods are about 5" long. Can I leave these on the bush until there are a sufficient number for harvest?

Fava, or Broad Beans, generally take from 80-90 days to produce. As the seed pods develop, they are almost erect, but as they mature the pods tend to droop down. You should expect each plant to produce between 10 and 15 pods. Wait until the pods droop down before harvesting.
