The Q&A Archives: Pruning Tangutica Clematis

Question: This is a yellow small flower clematis. What and when do I prune?

Answer: Clematis tangutica is considered a "Group III" clematis for pruning purposes. In early spring ( March), simply cut it back to about two or three feet from the ground. Do this every year. It will bloom on the new growth each year.
