The Q&A Archives: Clematis Poisonous?

Question: Just wanted to know if clematis is poisonous to dogs before I plant one?

Answer: Although I have not found clematis listed on the "poisonous plants" rosters, it's still probably not a good idea to allow them to eat it in any quantity, if for no other reason than young clematis vines tend to be rather brittle and fragile for the first year or two.
