I recently bought a Japanese Maple, about 5ft. We planted it and unfortunately after we had frost for 4-5 nights. The leaves have wilted up and discoloured in the center. We have a money back guarantee
Is the tree dead or do you think it will come around?
It probably was imported from a more southern state as the local Japanese Maples have not budded yet

This would be a matter to discuss with the seller. In some cases the tree will be healthy enough to leaf out again, although it may take it some time to do so. In other cases it will not have sufficient reserves and/or will be so severely stressed by both the shipping and retail process, the ride home and the transplanting that it can not. It is unlikely the tree is dead, yet, but there are an awful lot of variables as to whether or not it will make it. Do make sure it is not allowed to dry out. In retrospect, it would have been better to hold the tree in a sheltered spot until the local trees had leafed out. I'm sorry about your tree.
