Over the years, my Husker Red Penstemon plants have vigorously self-seeded. I now have enough to share. Most of the volunteers have the normal deep red foliage, but some have normal green foliage. Are these sports, and should I pinch these particular plants?

What fun! If you would prefer to keep your seed strain purer and produce more red plants than green, it would be a good idea to cull the green plants and thus remove them from the gene pool. These would be more of a reversion than a sport.
