My girlfriend and I saw these very interesting flowers named (spelling?) Renuncula on Nantucket Island last weekend and cannot find any info on them. We were told they were bulbs and either annuals or perennials. Any info on these beautiful flowers would be appreciated.

I believe you are talking about Ranunculus, it is a great flower. Some folks call it "Persian Turban". It grows from a little tiny tuber. You can get Ranunculus from Dutch Gardens at 1-800-818-3861. In cooler climates such as yours, they are planted in the spring, and lifted in the fall. The tubers should be dug after the foliage dies down, and stored for replanting the following spring.
