My sister recently bought a plant. She has a label, but we are unable to locate any information on it, such as watering, sunlight, planting, etc. Any help would be appreciated. The label says "ctenanthe oppenheimiana tricolor", Apache feather. |
Ctenanthe is a member of the Marantacae family and is native to Brazil. Ctenanthe Oppenheimiana 'tricolor', is also known as the 'Never-Never Plant'. It can grow to 3' with leaves 18" long and 5" wide, dark green with cream-colored blotches. Give your plant shade outdoors or brightly lit area indoors. It will thrive with ample moisture during the growing season and prefers rich, well-draining soil. It's a tender plant so plan to take it indoors during the coldest months of the year, providing a minimum of 55F degrees during the wintertime. Mist the leaves frequently (when growing indoors), and remove the flowering stem when the bloom is spent. |
