The Q&A Archives: Planting Shallots

Question: How deep should I plant shallots?

Answer: Seeds are planted about a half inch down, sets (bulblets) are planted so that about three fourths to seven eighths of their length is underground. Do not cover the top of the cloves -- surprisingly, shallots do not grow underground.
