The Q&A Archives: Spraying Apple Tree

Question: The blossoms have fallen off our two apple trees. Can we spray them to minimize spotted apples? and if so what type of spray if any?

Answer: There are several causes for spotted apples, and in many cases the spots can be controlled with sprays. However, the recommendations will depend on which specific problem your apples have, as well as in some cases on the weather patrterns each year. In addition, certain sprays must be applied at very exact intervals. Please contact your County Extension (350-2540) for the most up to date recommendations for specific sprays and the exact schedules required for your local area.
