I need some information on a purpleleaf honeysuckle(Lonicera japonica 'Purpurea') I purchased one and the tag had very little information. When does it flower? How long? Does it need pruning and when?

Your Japanese Honeysuckle is a vigorous, twining vine growing from 15'-30'. Flowers are purple-red outside but white inside. They're quite fragrant and appear June through November. The plant grows quickly and will need support on which to climb. Grow it in full sunshine in average garden soil. You can prune the vines back hard in the early spring, removing excessive growth and old dead vines. If not pruned annually it will become tangled and unruly.
