The Q&A Archives: Vegetables from seed indoors

Question: What vegetables are best to grow from seed in a sunny window (with the intention of maintaining these plants as houseplants)?. Yield is not as important as quality. Mike Mullaney Snook, TX

Answer: The only vegetables that might do okay in a sunny window are leafy plants such as lettuce, swiss chard and kale. Any other vegetables will require more light from a grow light indoors.
