My parents have a dogwood on their property which produces 10 petaled flowers on parts of the tree. Is this unique? Could it have any value if it could be duplicated? Are there any other resources you could refer us to? Thank you for any information you can provide.

How lovely! There are in fact named varieties of dogwoods (Cornus florida) whose blooms are considered "double"; "Mary Ellen", "Multibracteata" and "Plena" are several. You might consult with a professional arborist to see if yours is a named variety or if your tree has produced sports worth propagating.
