Veneer-grafting and chip-budding are the most common and successful methods. Young, vigorously growing seedlings are used for rootstocks. Scionwood is selected from young, leafy terminals or mature terminals with swelling buds. Grafting can be done at any time of the year when suitable rootstocks are available, but is most successful during warm weather.
