I received a Stargazer for Mom's Day. I want to plant it outside. What does it like? Sunny or shady, wet or dry? What is latin name for plant? I enjoy this type of lily and hope to grow many in my garden.

Once your Stargazer lily is finished blooming, cut off the flower stalk, place the plant in the brightest window indoors until the weather is warm enough to plant outdoors. Keep the plant well watered and begin fertilizing with a complete fertilizer monthly. By June, plant it outdoors in a sunny flower bed as you would a normal lily and it should be fine. Keep the soil moist. The lily may even flower again this summer. More likely it will dieback and come out next summer when all the other lilies grow and bloom.
