| last year I grew three peach trees from pits. In the fall of last year I transplanted one of them. I kept them all out of the wind by placing plastic around them and filling them with leaves. In the early spring they all had leaves on them, now only one does, the one I transplanted does not. What can be done ? Is there anything wrong ? What should have been done ? |
| There are many different causes of leaf drop in plants. The most common are overwatering and underwatering. Sometimes squirrels will nip leaf bud and twig tips, or scale insects will encrust the bark, causing leaves to yellow and fall. It may also be that your trees leafed out before it was really warm enough for them, and they may have been nipped by a late frost. Nursery raised trees are made from cuttings of varieties that are known to perform well. When you plant a peach pit, the resulting tree and its fruit may vary a lot from its parent tree.
