If the trees are newly planted, supply one inch of water per week. If the trees are established, they don't usually require any supplemental watering, except in the very hottest months of summer. The roots of the tree will extend out well beyond the dripline of the canopy. You can build a basin around the tree and flood the basin once a week to make sure your cherry tree gets adequate moisture during the growing season.
