I have a newly planted bald cypress and the tips on some of the leaves are turning brown. Could this be from too much water or possibly not enough?

Both could cause this symptom, as could fertilizer burn, which often happens when a dry, granular fertilizer is placed in the planting hole.

A new transplant will often suffer stresses and exhibit such symptoms until it has had a chance to put down a good, extensive root system to support itself. Try to keep the root ball moist without making it soggy for long periods of time. Gradually wet a larger area to accommodate the growing roots.
