I am trying to locate hormone strips to place in apple trees to prevent worms in the fruit. I purchased some apples at an orchard near Lubbock, Tx and they had used them and had no worms in the fruit and did not have to spray. Any ideas?

You're probably looking for pheromone traps which lure pests by means of a sexual attractant. There are different lures for different pests, including Codling Moth and Apple Maggot. These traps can cause problems, however. If you don't have an infestation of pests, the pheromone traps can attract them! The traps are available from Garden's Alive, 5100 Schenley Pl., Lawrenceburg, IN 47025. Phone (812) 537-8650.
