I am retired and plan on going to Arizona end of Oct. What succesion crops could I plant (in Wisconsin) for harvest in mid to late September, other than radish and lettuce? As part of this, when do FALL Raspberries mature? |
Aside from the long-season plants that you ordinarily pick in the fall (winter squash, rutabaga, storage potatoes, brussels sprouts, storage cabbage), here are some options. If you plant them around July 1st, you can harvest broccoli, kale and cauliflower in fall. Pole beans planted by July 1st produce until a killing frost, so long as you keep them well picked all summer. And then you can garden all winter in the warm Arizona weather! |
