I have a very afternoon sunny den in my new condo, that is filling up with houseplants. I would like to paint one or two of the walls in a bright color. Do you know what colors would be best to reflect light and promote plant health?

Interestingly enough, plain white reflects the most light and since light is usually the limiting factor in plant growth, that's probably the best color to use. In decorating terms, however, it can be a bit stark so I would suggest a white ceiling and a pale, reflective offwhite wall color but then paint the trim and use furniture in whatever bright colors suit you. Enjoy that "plant room"!
