I planted a large quantity of ranunculus, all of which I believed to be fully double flowers. Yet most have turned out to be single flowered (one petal deep all around). Could this be due to poor conditions (although my garden soil is pretty good and regularly watered)? Or is it just due to the type of bulbs I purchased? |
It sounds as if your bulbs turned out to be a single flowered variety. Your soil conditions wouldn't effect the plant's basic genetic make-up; it would effect its health, vigor, ability to put out growth, bloom, etc. Did you perhaps buy bulbs from open bins where customers are sometimes not too careful about putting bulbs back where they found them? Thanks for writing. |
