Please tell me how to pinch Dahlias for bushier plants? They are approx. 5 inches tall at this time.

Dahlias are usually self branching, but sometimes one stem seems dominant and grows better early on. When this happens, you can pinch the later sprouts that come from the root to make a bushier plant. Allow the sprout to get about four pairs of leaves and then remove the top two pairs. Keep about three or four stalks per clump and remove the rest if there any more. This should give a good balance between large flowers and a bushy plant.
