| My daughter recently purchased a bag of bulbs from a school fund raiser - named acidanthera. Are these spring bulbs such as gladolius to be planted now (they are sprouted) or should they be planted in the fall? Also, should they be lifted from the ground in the fall for our zone 4? |
| Acidanthera murialae also goes by the name Gladiolus callianthus, or commonly, peacock lily. It takes the same type of care and handling as gladiolus. Plant it in a sunny, well-drained site. It looks good planted in groups and flowers with a spike of 6-8 blooms. Yes, you'll want to lift them over the winter and store as you would your glads. I hope your daughter enjoys her flowers! |
