The cultivar 'Thorndale' has glossy green leaves with creamy white veins. This clinging vine is most often used as a ground cover but it also climbs on trees, buildings and other objects. Grow this vine in shaded spots as it may winterburn on exposed sites in cold climates. Some of the cultivars offer improved cold tolerance (Thorndale is one of them). The spread listed above is actually a suggested spacing at planting time. The plant will spread many feet, making an excellent groundcover in a sunny location.
