Are the little red shoots I see in my garden weeds or lavender seedlings?

Lavender seedlings produce leaves that are a silvery-green color. Without seeing the shoots it's difficult to say for certain, but they are probably weeds. My guess is that they're either pigweed or sorrel. Pinch one of the leaves off to see if it smells like lavender. If not, they're weeds and should be pulled out.
