I am beginning to notice some insects on my vegetable plants and would like to use something to prevent them from doing any damage and/or prevent them from coming back. I would prefer not to use any chemicals and was wondering if you could recommend something natural that I could use? |
Many insects are beneficial and should be left alone. When destructive insects arrive, the beneficial insects will do battle with them, preying on them or using them as nurseries for their offspring. There is no insecticide, biological or chemical, that is effective against all the insects in your garden. There are some specific measures you can take against specific pests, but you'll need to identify the critters before you can take any action, other than hosing them off with a strong stream of water or handpicking them from the plants. Healthy plants can put up with a fair amount of insect damage. And, as long as you can deal with less than perfect leaves and flowers, you may not have to do anything at all! |
