I received some unknown bulbs with an order and when they came up this year they were very strange. They looked like hyacinths but the flowers were feathery looking. Could you possibly help with an answer as to what they are and what, if any, care they need?

Sounds like you have Feather Hyacinths (Muscari plumosum). They are cared for in the same way as any other hyacinth, rich soil, sun or shade, moist but well drained soil, fertilize in the early spring with something like "Bulb Booster", leave the foliage intact until it withers and browns. Enjoy them, they are unique and beautiful!
