Kniphofia (Red Hot Poker) seeds can sometimes be difficult to coax into germination. The seeds should be planted 1/4" deep in moistened seed starting mix and kept at 70F -75F degrees during the day. Reduce the temperature at night (60F -65F). After sowing the seeds, put the trays or pots in a warm area such as on top of the refrigerator during the day. Then transfer them to the floor or put them in the garage at night. This temperature change should speed germination and seedlings should appear in 10-30 days. Keep the soil moist but not soggy wet during the germination period. Hope this helps you successfully sprout your Red Hot Pokers!
