The Q&A Archives: Fertilizer Spike Spacing

Question: How far apart should I space the Miracle-Gro Fruit & Citrus Spikes?

Answer: Fertilizer spikes should be spaced evenly around the drip line (tips of the outer branches) of trees. Use three spikes for each 2" of trunk diameter and place them at least 24" away from the trunk. So, if you have a tree with a 4" diameter trunk, you can use 6 stakes, evenly spaced, placed directly below the dripline of the canopy of the tree.
