Last year we had a problem with mold forming on the base of our Roma tomatoes. Were we watering them too much after they began fruiting? |
Sounds like Blossom-end rot, especially if the problem begins as a water-soaked spot which enlarges and turns dark brown and leathery. This problem is due to a calcium deficiency, often brought on by an uneven water supply. Try to keep the soil evenly moist by using a mulch and watering when needed. |
