I would like to know exactly how I am supposed to prune my veronica plants throughout the summer to keep them blooming. Should I be cutting off each faded bloom at it's base?

Yes, just keep cutting those blooms for bouquets, and remove any that have gone by. They need watering regularly, but avoid getting water on the leaves. The weather's been useasonably warm this spring and summer, and this can cut back on blooms, too. In late autumn, when the stalks have yellowed, you can cut them back to the ground. In the spring, topdress with compost, and they should reward you again with bloom!
