What a perplexing problem! Here are some suggestions. Set a sloped cone shaped baffle of wire mesh over the basket so that the birds have no level spot on which to perch (the plants should grow through and cover this eventually); twine and weave fishing line (about 20 pund test) around the top of the basket so that they have difficulty focusing on it and will not land there and/or are fenced out; try the "bird scarers" such as owl, snake and cats eyes; move the baskets up and down and around daily so they are not always in the same places; last but probably most effective in the long run, screen the porch?
