The Q&A Archives: Plants Suited to Strawberry Containers

Question: I have a strawberry container that I want to plant something in. What would be the best choice? Cindy D'Annunzio Freeland, MD

Answer: This may sound silly, but why not plant strawberries in it. The alpine strawberries do well in barrels and after all that's why they call them strawberry barrels. You also could plant flowers such as lobelia, alyssum, dusty miller and petunias. If youput the container in the shade try impatiens and begonias. It all depends on your taste!!
