I took some seeds from a vine-like plant from a friends house this weekend and she said it is a form of the impatiens flower. I am not certain. The flowers are pink and white/tubular and the entire plant gets seed-pods on it that pop when touched and the seeds spill out. The pods also spiral when they are poped. Any idea what kind of flower this is? |
It is a form of impatiens, commonly called Touch-Me-Not, for obvious reasons. The botanical name is Impatiens oliveri, and it's a shrubby perennial growing 4'-8' tall and up to 10' wide. The glossy green leaves grow in whorls along the stems and the pinkish flowers can grow to 2 1/4" across. |
