Answer: we have had some powerful storms this summer! Corn is a fairly shallow-rooted plant and is succeptible to blowdowns. You can try to "hill" the corn -- pull soil from the paths between the rows up around the base of the plants. It's best to do this on a regular basis to try and reduce the chance of the crop being flattened. It also gives the shallow roots more soil to work with. Irrigate and fertilize as necessary to keep the plants healthy. I hope this helps!
