The Q&A Archives: Drying Hydrangeas

Question: What is the best method to dry hydrangeas? Upright in 1/2 H20 & glyercin; otherwise they wilt hanging them upside down.

Answer: Other methods include allowing them to dry in a vase with just an inch of water in the bottom. The blossoms should slowly dry as the water evaporates. An improvement on this method is to take a large juice can, cut the top out, and cover the top with small-gauge chicken wire. The holes in the wire allow the blooms to be held upright without drooping, and keeps them well spaced so they dry evenly. Enjoy!
