The Q&A Archives: Effects of Beneficial Nematodes on Tomato Plants

Question: I've heard that beneficial nematodes used to cut down on grub problems can greatly hinder tomato growth. Anything to that? What is a safe proximity? Lenita Newberg Kirkwood, MO

Answer: I have never heard that beneficial nematodes can reduce the growth of tomatoes. As far as I know, these species that's released only affects the grubs in the soil and not plant roots. Other species of nematodes can harm tomato roots, but not these. Do you have any articles that you read about this? If so, I'd love to see them.
