My personal preference is to plant them in early spring, followed by late summer, but daylilies can be planted almost anytime. Bareroot plants can be planted from spring through early fall (to allow them time to root before the soil freezes) and container-grown plants can be planted any time the soil is not frozen. Be sure to water them in well until they are established and pay particular attention to the watering if planting htem in the heat of summer.
